Point Percussion Therapy is a special blend of orthopaedic and soft tissue treatment developed in China in the early 1980’s drawing from the traditional practices and modern research, to treat sequelae of cerebral birth injury, stroke vertebral syndromes and soft tissue injury. It is most commonly applies in the treatment of cerebral palsy children.

This method has been a significant development in the rehabilitation of neurologically impaired patients, in particular the commonly associated symptoms of atrophy, spasticity, speech impairment, sensory loss and motor dysfunction. The techniques utilised include finger percussion, pressing, pinching, clapping and knocking along channels and on points which include acupuncture points, several other specific “Wu Shu” points and trigger points.

The above methods can be applied separately or integrated according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to suit the individual client, according a greater degree of cohesiveness within the complex web of interrelationships that together determine our health.
